#GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

Family Advocates is an non-profit organization dedicated to providing an environment of integrity and respect. We are committed to objective advocacy focused on the best interest of children and fostering, positive and permanent family relationships.

Family Advocates, Inc. has provided advocacy for foster children through the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteer Program since 1990.

In 1999, Family Advocates opened Harmony House, a safe haven for supervised visitation and safe exchanges. Each month children spend quality time with a non-custodial parent in a safe home on Michigan Avenue in La Porte and on Wabash Street in Michigan City.

In 2014, the Court Appointed Youth Advocate (CAYA) Volunteer Program began to advocate and mentor at-risk youth who are on probation or expelled from school.

Your support will provide advocates for abused and neglected children, who through no fault of their own, have been placed in foster care, many times forced to change schools, and can fall victim of the child welfare system. Your support will provide advocates and mentors for youth who have no parental support or supervision that result in truancy, substance abuse and runaway attempts.
